Phylanx Seminar: Multi-threaded Computing

Predicting the effects of parallelism on an algorithm is central in designing efficient applications. In this seminar, Avah presents the models used to determine the effects of parallelism and concurrency. She introduces and defines terms such as work, span, speedup, parallelism, and slackness which are used to calculate the theoretical limits of parallel applications.
