Often when writing distributed applications, a user will want to represent a large data set as a single object, despite not fitting in memory on a single node. In order to address this use case, Weile Wei and Maxwell Reeser have developed the utility distributed_object. In this seminar, Weile and Maxwell present their work on Distributed Object in HPX. They cover the relevant portions of HPX, the two implemented registration methods, and the fetch function.
